CLE Policies

The Kansas Bar Association is a CLE Provider defined by Kansas Supreme Court Rule 801(o); as such, the KBA follows Rules 800-812 regarding CLE delivery in Kansas, alongside further guidelines established by the KSCLE.

Policies

Live Virtual Programs

As a general policy for live-virtual programs, no refunds or exchanges will be issued later than 24 hours before the program except for emergent circumstances or technical issues originating from the KBA. The KBA may exercise its discretion regarding 

If you do not reach out regarding a technical difficulty immediately, the KBA may be unable to address your concern in a timely manner. 


Live In-Person Programs

Please view the specific program for details regarding refunds or exchanges. Please note that exchanges are typically unavailable, except in cases where the program is being recorded to offer virtually at a later date.


On-Demand Programs

Generally, the KBA does not offer refunds for On-Demand programs, given the extended timeframes involved. If you have a concern regarding an On-Demand program, please contact us at cle@ksbar.org.

Credit

KBA CLE programs are usually approved for credit in Kansas. Additionally, our live programs (in-person and virtual) are typically approved for credit in Missouri. Each program will list the specific amount and type of credit approved.


Reporting in Kansas

At the beginning of each program, KBA Staff will outline any instructions regarding necessary procedures for attendees to receive credit. Failure to adhere to the provided instructions may result in partial or no credit.

The KBA will report your attendance to KSCLE within 30 days of program completion. Please note that this 30-day window also applies following the end of the annual compliance period (June 30th). For more information regarding general compliance and reporting timeframes, please reach out to KSCLE.


Reporting in Missouri

Attendees who wish to receive credit for programs in Missouri shall do so according to the relevant Missouri Rules. For more information, please see the Missouri Bar website.

Completion Requirements

For the KBA to report On-Demand attendance to KSCLE, attendees MUST complete programs in their entirety, complete all checkpoints, and complete the required prompts within the 'Credit Submission' tab of the course viewer. These instructions will be included at the start of each program.


Credit Expiration

To ensure program content remains current, KSCLE guidelines restrict the timeframe in which an On-Demand Program is available for credit. It is the attendee's responsibility to complete any purchased On-Demand program before the expiration date listed in a course's description.


Partial or Incomplete Programs

The KBA does not track the partial or incomplete status of any KBA On-Demand program. If you wish to submit an incomplete program for attendance, please notify cle@ksbar.org directly.

Questions and Assistance

It is an individual's responsibility to contact CLE Department at cle@ksbar.org in a reasonable timeframe regarding any questions or concerns.


Non-compliance

The KBA is not liable for alleged attorney non-compliance beyond the provider duties listed within the Rules and Guidelines established by KSCLE and the Supreme Court of Kansas. 


Reproduction or Usage

KBA CLE programs contain materials owned by or licensed to the KBA. The unauthorized or unlawful reproduction of those materials is expressly prohibited and may give rise to a claim for damages and/or constitute a criminal offense.
