Legislative Services

The Kansas Bar Association is an advocate for legal issues that improve the administration of the law and create avenues to maintain our constitutional right of access to justice. As such, the KBA provides its members both valuable legislative services that promote the legal community and valuable information concerning a wide range of legislative issues that could have a significant impact on their law practice.

What we do:

Among many things, the Kansas Bar Association's director of legislative services performs two core functions:

  1. Advocacy — The director represents the KBA in official legislative and lobbying efforts. Through communication with the KBA's board, committees, and sections, the director advocates for the Association's legislative agenda.
  2. Information Provision — The director communicates any relevant information from legislation to the corresponding Association groups. In distributing the information, the director contributes to the Kansas Bar Journal articles, newsletters, and continuing legal education presentations.
